Investment Incentives
The passage of Municipal Investment and Incentive Code of 1999 provides incentives for new and expanding businesses. This encourages foreign and local investments in enterprises that significantly expand livelihood and employment opportunities for the residents of Santa Maria. Details of the incentives are incorporated in the code which was passed into Ordinance No. 128 series of 1999.

Cost of Doing Business
Registered businesses in Santa Maria in 2012 is 3,476. Cost of doing business in the municipality is much less than developed countries because it offers cheaper labor cost at a minimum Php 310.00 daily for laborers to Php 1,000.00 daily for managerial positions. Communications, electricity, housing and water services are much cheaper and very accessible.

Land cost and development are also affordable at prices ranging from Php 1,000.00 to Php 10,000.00 per square meter of industrial lots depending on its location are available. Commercial areas within the urban centers range from Php 5,000.00 to Php 20,000.00 per square meter while residential areas vary from Php 500.00 to Php 5,000.00.


Investment Opportunities
     The municipality produces globally competitive pyrotechnics, needlecrafts such as linens and garments. Being an agricultural municipality, the municipal government identified processed foods as its "One Town, One Product". For this reason, the first Chicharon festival was held last February 6, 2008 to signify our commitment to support this industry which originated in our town and now serves as the source of livelihood among our constituents.

     The strategic location of Santa Maria makes it ideal for industrial locators to invest in our town, hence, brokers are making good profit out of brokerage business.
